Faith in Christ

As soon as we open our hearts to Jesus we realize that faith becomes everything. Faith in Jesus to forgive us of our sins, give us a new life, and to sustain us each day.
Living this life of faith is tricky. We stare at a mountain of circumstances and impossibilities and our faith is strong. It seems that at any moment our faith surges. Meanwhile, at a different hour in the day our faith can be completely absent.
That happened with Jesus apostles one day. They were in a boat crossing a lake, and a fierce storm raged around them. There were probably flashes of lighting, loud thunder, and high waves. It’s very clear this was their last trip on the lake. They’re going down! Of course, Jesus is in the back asleep. The leaders shook him and said loudly “get up, we’re all going down.” Jesus calmly spoke to the lighting, thunder, dark cloud, and the heavy rains and said “ stop.”
He looked at his leaders and said, “where is your faith?” I’m here in the boat with you”
Faith can be fleeting. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about the mountain of obstacles facing me but today, I am grabbing a hold of one verse and saying it over and over.
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound inevery good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8
Let’s remember that grace and faith are always functioning together. It’s always grace through faith, they are never separated. Let’s all make a decision, not only with our minds, but with our hearts as well. Let’s stare down our biggest circumstance and obstacle and get hold of the promise of Jesus. We can say to Jesus that in our circumstances our faith is in Him.
