The Triumph of Victory/The Agony of Defeat

We all face trials, temptations, and tests.  No one is exempt. But God has a plan for us to triumph in, over, and through each of them. Sometimes God delivers us out of them all.  Sometimes He walks beside us through them all, but always He does not leave us nor forsake us, nor does He allow us to be tempted above what we are able to stand.
The adversary, the devil, desires to sift us, to destroy us and to kill us.  However, Jesus has triumphed over all of the schemes and wicked desires of the devil through His death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead.  In fact, He sits at the right hand of the Father as our advocate interceding for us.
Many years ago I read a book by C.S. Lewis entitled Screw Tape Letters.  The book describes a senior demon training a novice demon how to deceive and trip up believers.
Our Father long ago gave is a play book on how to triumph over sin, the devil and the cares of life.  That book is the Bible. It is filled with God’s interactions with mankind from creation until Christ returned to Heaven.

This play book gives us strategies of how to live the victorious life through Christ.  God’s simple plan has two basic commands:

  1. “Love the Lord with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul and all your strength”
  2. “Love your neighbor as yourself”
These commands are not grievous nor difficult if we are “crucified with Christ, never the less I live, yet not I but Christ lives in me.  The life I now live I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.”
There must be death to self and a birth unto righteousness through Christ Jesus.  When we pass from death to life we will triumph over every trail, test and temptation because for “us to live is Christ.”
Take heart make your commitment and see what God will accomplish in your life.
